Hey guys! It's upscale time. A few days ago i found this empty sweet box in our home and thought I could do an upscale project with it. It is a good sturdy box, so I will use the finished box to store my extra Washi tapes. I am entering this in the following challenges
- Lulupu Challenge #56 - http://lulupu.blogspot.in/2015/12/challenge-56-deck-up-your-home.html
- Creative Craft Cottage Challenge #53 - http://creativecraftcottage.blogspot.in/2015/12/challenge-53-anything-goes.html
- Crafting From The Heart Challenge #89 - http://craftingfromtheheartchallengeblog.blogspot.in/2015/12/challenge-89.html
Materials required
For the box
And old sturdy waste box (sweets, chocolates, biscuits, etc.)
A sheet of handmade paper. I used a brown 12 X 12 one to cover the lid.
A piece of cardboard that is the size of your lid.
Some old books
Mod Podge - I used the satin one from Heritage Crafts
Washi tapes, pearls and any other embellishments you want to use
For the tag
A piece of white card stock
Pattern paper, masking tape
Distress ink - I used Mowed Lawn
A frame metal embellishment and some brads
Pearls, golden thread and some flower punch cutouts.
Method
For the tag
Take a piece of card stock and cover it with some pattern paper. Now stick some masking tape on it. You don't have to be neat here. Apply some distress ink on it and then spray some water to blend the colour. Add some flower punch cutouts at the top and bottom and then add a metal frame to it. Add some brads to the corners and lastly tie a golden thread.
For the box
Cover the lid with the brown handmade paper. Cover a piece of cardboard with pattern paper and put it inside the box. Make a divider with another piece of cardboard. To embellish the lid, take a piece of cardboard that is the same size as the lid and stick some old novel papers on it using mod Podge. After its dry, add another coat of mod Podge. Now put some strips of Washi tape on it. And apply another coat of mod Podge. Put a strip of green handmade paper on the right side using mod Podge. Add some pearls and stickers. I also added a sentiment using some alphabet stickers. At the end add your tag on the lid. Fill the box with your Washi tapes.
You can also fill this up with some craft supplies and gift it to a friend.
